Our Mission

Our mission is simple. We want everyone to have fun while learning, and we hope to inform the workforce of the future about opportunities in STEM, marketing, and business.

The manufacturing, information, technology and engineering fields are in high demand all over the world. FIRST Robotics teams help students explore these fields through designing, building, programming, and competing with robots. Our goal is for students to develop the technical and professional skills that will be valuable for careers in STEM or any other field they may choose.

Our goal is to help you find something you love to do. Rockford Robotics has the resources to help each student learn about what they love.

Sean

He enjoys being a mentor because he can guide the team members through issues they have with their robot and see the kids try new things they've never done before. He enjoys robotics, Boy Scouts, fixing things around the house,

Jake

Jake's favorite parts about being a mentor are that it is fun working with the students to solve interesting challenges and teaching them the engineering process. His favorite parts about robotics and competitions are finding strategies for each set of game challenges, prototyping, CAD, machining, testing stuff, troubleshooting, and watching matches. He also enjoys 3D printing, video game, and rockets.

Mentor - Electrical & Programming

Lukas

Lukas mentors the electrical and programming sub-teams. He enjoys position on the team because the whole engineering process (scraps to systems) is very interesting. His favorite part about robotics is the potential to improve life and labor for humanity. Lukas' favorite part of competitions is that they aren't just skirmishes, but friend and partnership opportunities. He also enjoys video games and various engineering projects.

Chris

She enjoys being a mentor because she loves working with really smart and creative students. Chris is in charge of budgeting and organizing for the team. Her favorite part of competitions is seeing all of the creating ways teams solve the same challenge.

The Students

Mechanical Team Lead

Liam

He likes designing, fabricating, and building the robots, as well as leading the team towards their goals. He enjoys robotics, CAD, Boy Scouts, and car mechanics.

Programming & Driver

Connor

His favorite parts of being on the team are learning new things, building the robot, seeing his work come alive on the robot, and talking to other teams and seeing different robot designs during competitions. He enjoys programming, baseball, soccer, and Boy Scouts.

Electrical & Mechanical Design

Phoebe

She likes being on the electrical team because she finds that it is very interesting. Her favorite part about competitions is meeting new people and teams, and having fun with her own team. Phoebe enjoys football, robotics, and hanging out with her friends.

Mechanical Design

Rina

Rina likes working with the team and helping out however she can. She helps with marketing and social media, as well as building the robot. She enjoys drawing and art. Also, robots are so swag.

Mechanical Team

Kai

He likes his position on the team because it is fun to make and machine parts for the robot. Kai enjoys being on the team because he likes hanging out with the team, who like the same kids of things he likes, and that he gets to work on things that he likes to work on. He also enjoys mountain biking, machining, and tinkering.

Marketing & Media Team

Annie

She loves the creativity in website design, marketing, and writing. Annie built and currently maintains the website for the team. She also enjoys crocheting, painting, drawing, teaching, and generally creating. Annie has her own website where she sells her handmade products www.bears-creations.com.
